  1. Sam-
Congratulations on your upcoming graduation from USAFA. I know people who have gone there and they were wicked busy all the time…How are you able to find the time to train long and hard enough to be competitive in Ironman? what does your training regiment consist of for Ironman?
Do you forsee your training time being affected when you commission?

    Appreciate your insight Sam

    • Hey! Thanks for the interest, it means a lot. I definitely had a hard time getting used to fitting in Ironman training as well as all the USAFA stuff, but with 4-5 hours of sleep and lots of coffee it worked out 😉
I usually will get in 2 hours of workout time in the morning before mandatory breakfast, maybe an hour (run) in between lunch and classes, and then the majority of the hours of training have to be at night. Luckily the gym is open until 10pm and I got used to studying on the treadmill or the stationary bike.

When I commission I think we will have more free time to train because we will have a normal job with lunch breaks (hopefully). We also won’t have random briefings at night from 7-9 that just ruin the night’s training plans.
